elParlante worked on the image and communication of this campaign of the Barcelona City Council to break stereotypes around the fact of aging. <\/em><\/p>\n

I’m old so what<\/strong>? It is an initiative to raise public awareness to question and dismantle the stereotypes and prejudices that older people often suffer. The project seeks to claim first-hand the right to difference and equality, fighting against discrimination based on age. This proposal is promoted by the Department of Children, Youth and Elderly of Barcelona,<\/strong> with the support of the Advisory Council of the Elderly<\/strong>. It raises the need to make visible the great diversity that exists in this cycle of life and invites us to critically reflect on our ideas and attitudes, reviewing and questioning our stereotypes and prejudices around the fact of aging.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The <\/span>I’m Big campaign so what?<\/b><\/p>\n

<\/a> has been selected by the<\/span> WHO <\/b> as one of the nine international best practices against ageism and the stereotypes and prejudices that result from such discrimination. In its call Take sides against age discrimination<\/strong> , the WHO made an appeal among member cities of the International Network of Friendly Cities<\/strong>. The objective was to expose and disseminate the initiatives that, like this one, were working on the subject so that they can be collected and imitated in other cities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Workshops, dialogues and debates on theatre-forums, updated documentation on other similar projects, advertising spots to disseminate through the networks, awareness-raising materials aimed at the general public and more.
