We interviewed David Pic\u00f3 from PES La Mina- Salesians Sant Jordi to learn about the project “La Cara Oculta de La Mina” and his experience at the Glocal Educommunication Seminar, as a preamble to the second edition that will take place this 2019.<\/em><\/p>\n

David Pic\u00f3<\/strong> defines himself as a technological craftsman and dynamic bifidus. Lycanthrope with a few hours on the trapeze and comic book reader. He has been a social educator in the neighborhood of La Mina<\/strong> for more than fifteen years, implementing community revitalization projects with high ICT<\/strong> content.<\/p>\n

Despite her experience, she enrolled in the
\n Glocal Educommunication for Social Justice Seminar<\/a>
\n<\/strong> in 2017. She developed with some colleagues the project La Cara Oculta de La Mina<\/strong>, which we talk about in this interview. These are some of his impressions before and after getting up close and personal with educommunicative theories and practices<\/strong> around the world.<\/p>\n

Ep- <\/strong>David, what idea did you have about the Seminar, or about Educommunication before you started doing it?<\/h5>\n

DP-<\/strong> Before starting the seminar I was not very sure, I had no idea as well as more configured. What I did think was that it could be a good opportunity to be able to make theoretical reflection and accompanied by testimonies or examples of educommunicative actions that were being carried out. But above all this, that it was a space for theoretical work and theoretical training of the concept of educommunication.<\/p>\n

Ep-<\/strong> At what point in the Seminar did you understand that what you do in the neighborhood of La Mina is also Educomunicaci\u00f3?<\/h5>\n

DP-<\/strong> It was very early on, from the first session we started talking about the concept of educommunication and I was already very clear that this definition, this concept or these notions were very similar or very coinciding with the work we had been doing in desdelamina.net<\/strong><\/strong><\/a> I thought at best, unknowingly, or having just intuition about it, I was already doing educommunication. Above all, that in the sense that our project is born from an entity and from a way of doing social projects or social education. This was very easy: to see what keys educommunication<\/strong> has, which coincided with keys of our project.<\/p>\n

Ep- <\/strong>What project did you develop during the Seminar and why? Tell us a little.<\/h5>\n

DP-<\/strong> With our colleagues from the Seminar, the idea arose to work on a project that we had in our drawer, in our entity, which is that of The far side of the Mine<\/strong>, a proposal that emerged as a result of shared work and common spaces between two entities of the neighborhood: the PES of Salesians Sant Jordi<\/strong> and the Casal Infantil del barri.<\/a><\/strong> What we looked at was how we should explore this very initial idea of The Hidden Face and be able to carry it out, and be able to write a project, a working document that would propose the different Actions and methodologies<\/strong> to carry it forward and be able to develop it.<\/p>\n

Ep-<\/strong> Why would you recommend other colleagues to take the Seminar?<\/h5>\n

EP-<\/strong> I think the Seminar is a good one Training experience<\/strong> and also ofExchange of experiences and knowledge<\/strong> among people who are working on this concept of educommunication, but also who are working in areas that may seem somewhat disparate or separate, but that have a lot in common; and that of these synergies, of these relationships, of this Networking<\/em><\/strong>, very cool and very exciting ideas can come out. I would recommend it for the subject of theoretical training, I think there is an important level of the speakers and participants of the seminar, also to be able to share with other colleagues what is being done, or that is being carried out and, also, because it gives a space to be able to dream a little, to be able to propose new proposals, or some proposals that can be carried out during the seminar.<\/p>\n

David Pic\u00f3<\/strong> will participate as a speaker in the second edition of the
\n Glocal Educommunication Seminar<\/strong>
\n<\/a> presenting the intermediate project desdelamina.net<\/a> with colleagues from PES La Mina<\/strong>. Among others they will talk about various projects carried out with the neighbors of the neighborhood, mapping, mapping, radio, TV and the photographic exhibition I Love La Mina<\/strong>, a project that participated in DocsField Barcelona<\/strong><\/a>, carried out with Isma Montfort, Ester Molera and Carol Rodr\u00edguez.<\/p>\n
