In recent years, the increase in sociocultural diversity in Catalonia has generated the consolidation of stereotypes, rumors, and prejudices that lead to behaviors and attitudes of discrimination.
From theParlante we know that this reality highlights a situation that hinders interaction and relationships between people of different cultural origins, which is why during the months of October and November, with the support of the Department of Social Welfare and Citizenship of the City Council of Mollerussa, we implement the anti-rumor conference “WE SEEK ARGUMENTS, STOP THE RUMORS” in Mollerussa (Lleida).
In this training space, 25 professionals from the public administration, NGOs and social entities had access for 20 hours to reflective contents, arguments and participatory methodologies to manage the main rumors that affect coexistence in the Pla d’Urgell region through:
• Knowledge and reflection in the construction of intercultural dialogue.
• Reflection on the concepts of culture, diversity and interculturality as tools for social cohesion.
• The analysis of the processes of creation of stereotypes, rumours and prejudices.
• The acquisition of communicative and emotional tools in the management of stereotypes and rumors.
• The knowledge of anti-rumored skills to apply them in everyday dialogue.
