“Un instant” was carried out within the framework of the
City of Hope
project, an Educommunication and Awareness project based on the use of the media with the aim of promoting the active participation of l@s adolescents and young people. This year we have been working in the field of health, specifically sexual and reproductive education.
In this fourth season, the complexity of teenage pregnancy and its impacts have been reflected, and the most classic stereotypes of the roles of girls and boys in sex-affective relationships have been questioned, an imaginary that comes largely from the media: especially fiction and advertising. The Barcelona Zoom Festival (BZF) project awarded the short film made by the boys and girls of Ciutat Esperança. The BZF supports initiatives and activities that improve the skills and participation of young people and at the same time raise awareness of their environment, by reflecting and expressing their reality, increasing their visibility. It is an initiative in which the work process is valued, in which the subject of the short is encouraged to be a reality of the territory and in which the participation of l@s young people is key. These characteristics are ideal to motivate participants and involve sharing values of Educommunication and Communication for Social Change, the two main lines with which we work.
