Amanda, Lua, Martina and Aran, students of the Institut Quatre Cantons, are participating in the European project HUMAN . In Spain, this project is coordinated by Rinova , in collaboration with the Cultural Association elParlante .

From elParlante we accompanied the four work sessions with these young participants. The objective was to create 10 short sound pieces for social networks, designed to dismantle hate speech towards people of diverse cultural origins. And, thus, prevent racism and promote diversity.

During these sessions, they learned techniques for speaking correctly in front of a microphone and discovered the potential of sound language as a tool for social transformation. They also had the opportunity to define, from a personal perspective, what hate speech is and reflect on whether social media helps to reinforce or combat it.

They have been four meetings full of learning, reflection and creativity. An experience that they will now be able to share with other young people from various European countries. They will soon meet students from other contexts with whom they will exchange ideas, experiences and strategies to confront the hate speech that circulates everywhere, especially through social networks.
